Varenyky With Songs: Ukrainian Refugees Celebrated the Independence Day of Ukraine

A celebration with food and music. Ukrainian refugees celebrated, expressed gratitude, and experienced that music gives hope.

Hopefully this was shared by the 65 or more Ukrainian refugees, some with family, friends or their hosts, who came to «Varenyky with Songs». It was a special day as it was the Ukrainian Independence Day. The Oranjekerk in Amsterdam was decorated with sunflowers and a sea of ​​blue and yellow colors. We tasted the most delicious salads, salty and sweet dumplings, uzvar (a homemade drink of dried fruits), and tea.

Refugees Meetup is grateful to everyone for their participation in event for Ukrainian refugees:

• To the women and men who shopped, cooked, decorated, and cleaned up afterwards
• To the singers and dancers who entertained us, and to all those who joined in, sang, clapped their hands, and had fun
• To the Oranjekerk for so generously welcoming us back into their hall and inspiring Bible Garden
• To the adults and children, Ukrainians and Dutch, who came to the festive musical event. Thanks to you, a loving family atmosphere has developed
• To Victoriia Pokladova and her assistants and Annette for planting another flower in our garden

Святкування з їжею та музикою. На цьому заході біженці в Нідерландах з України святкували, дякували, співали і слухали пісень. Бо музика дає надію на краще.

Сподіваємося, це відчули біженці з Україниі, які прийшли на «Вареники зі співами» 24 серпня в Ораньєкерк в Амстердамі. Зібралися родинами, хтось прийшов з друзями, а хтось з нідерландськими господарями, які прихистили українських біженців їх у своїх домівках — більше 65 людей святкували разом цей День Незалежності України!

У морі синього, жовтого та соняшникового кольору ми смакували найсмачніші салати, солоні та солодкі вареники, узвар та чай

Refugees Meetup вдячні всім, хто причетний до цього заходу для біженців в Амстердамі:

• Жінкам і чоловікам, які робили покупки, готували, прикрашали та прибирали
• Співакам і танцюристам, які нас розважали, і всім тим, хто приєднався до співів, аплодував і веселився
• Ораньєкерку за те, що так щедро прийняли нас знову у своєму залі та надихаючому Біблійному саду
• Дорослим і дітям, українцям і нідерландцям, які завітали на святкову музичну зустріч. Завдяки вам склалася затишна, сімейна атмосфера
