Refugees MeetUp found a new way to help Ukraine refugees. It started organizing a get-together for Ukrainian children up to 12 years old called “Time of creativity and inspiration”. Run by one of the coordinators of the group “We are from Ukraine 55+” Galina Rodionova. Galina shared her craft skills with the children, while sharing stories about Ukraine.
So, on Halloween evening, she told the Ukrainian children stories about the Ukrainian Pumpkin Holiday. Then they watched the cartoon about the marvelous Pumpkin and his friends, listened to Ukrainian songs, and had some fun.
On the 9th of November children gathered again, this time to make lanterns, called “lampionnen” in Dutch, for St. Martin’s Day (“Sint Maarten”). A lovely way to get acquainted with the Feast of Saint Martin, something all Dutch children look forward to.
In 2023 there will be an announcement on the site of a weekly crafts session for Ukrainian refugee children.
Благодійна організація Refugees MeetUp започаткувала новий захід для біженців в Амстердамі. На цей раз для дітей віком до 12 років. Одна з координаторок групи «Ми з України 55+» Галина Родіонова проводить для них «Час творчості та натхнення». Вона передає дітям свої навички рукоділля і супроводжує це цікавими розповідями та історіями.
Так, у вечір Геллоувіну українські дітлахи слухали розповіді про українське свято Гарбуза. Потім дивилися мультфільм про дивовижний гарбуз та його друзів, слухали українські пісні та розважалися.
9 листопада відбулася чергова зустріч для біженців. На цей раз діти виготовляли ліхтарики-кошики (lampionnen) на День святого Мартіна (Sint Maarten). Так вони познайомилися із святом, на яке з нетерпінням чекають нідерландські дітлахи.
З нового року Refugees MeetUp планує регулярно проводити подібні заходи для біженців в Амстердамі.
