On January 7, the group “We from Ukraine” 55+ with the support of Refugees MeetUp held a festive matine for refugees from Ukraine “Holiday Evenings in Amsterdam” in the beautiful Protestantse Diaconie. The idea of holding the event came from yoga teacher Mr. Joop, who regularly teaches classes for Ukrainian women, and his wife Mrs. Ellen. But the afternoon itself was held in the best traditions of Ukrainian evening parties.
Ukraine refugees and guests listened to a cappella singing of folk songs by Ruslana. Svetlana sang, accompanying herself on the guitar. Ellen and a vocal quartet of Dutch guests sang local songs. We were especially proud to have Ukrainian opera singer Iryna Krasnenko perform.
Everyone was moved by the Ukrainian dance class by Tatyana and Nina. Alla played the role of a fortune teller who gave Christmas predictions. And Iryna, in the image of Solokha, presented the secret Santa with gifts that everyone brought with them.
Of course, it’s impossible to hold a Ukrainian event without the traditional delicacies that refugees from Ukraine in Amsterdam are known for. The delightful food was organized by Alla, Svitlana, Ivanna, Eva, Olga and Igor. The celebratory event was led by the announcer-screenwriter Victoria, and the announcer-translator Oleksandr.

7 січня група «Ми з України» 55+ за підтримки Refugees MeetUp провела святкову зустріч для біженців з України «Вечорниці в Амстердамі» в атмосферному Protestantse Diaconie. Ідея івенту прийшла до вчителя йоги Mr. Joop, який проводить заняття для українських жінок, та його дружини Mrs. Ellen. Але саму зустріч провели у кращих традиціях українських вечорниць.
Біженці з України та інші гості слухали акапельний спів Руслани, яка виконувала фольклорні пісні. Світлана співала, акомпонуючи собі на гітарі. Еллен та вокальний квартет нідерландських гостей співали місцевих пісень. Співочою родзинкою стала українська оперна співачка Ірина Краснєнко.
Всіх розворушив майстер-клас з українських танців від Тетяни та Ніни. Алла зіграла роль віщунки, що роздавала всм різдвяні передбачення. А Ірина в образі Солохи розігрувала таємні подарунки, що кожен приніс із собою.
Звичайно, не обійшлося без традиційних пригощань, якими вже знані біженці з України в Амстердамі. Смачний стіл організували Алла, Світлана, Іванна, Єва, Ольга та Ігор. Керували святковим дійством ведуча-сценаристка Вікторія та ведучий-перекладач Олександр.
